Celebrate the coronation in style with Hattingley valley

April 28th 2023

With a historical occasion and bumper bank holiday around the corner, there’s no better way to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation than with a bottle of the aptly named King’s Cuvée 2015 or King’s Rosé 2015, from Hampshire winery Hattingley Valley.

Designed as a coronation collectable, Hattingley Valley’s limited-edition collection of engraved bottles feature a beautiful floral bedecked crown emblem, as well as the date of the coronation. For the perfect gift to mark this majestic moment in history, there’s also a King’s Coronation Engraved Oak Case (£30), complete with an engraving of your choice for a personal touch.

The King’s Cuvée 2015 (£85), named after Kings Farm on the Hattingley Estate, is a new limited release vintage of the King’s Cuvée. This wine is a regal pale golden colour and made from a premium blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. A soft, creamy and spicy wine, this tipple is deep and rich, yet with a refreshing bright, crisp acidity. On the nose, vibrant citrus aromas are layered with sweet honey, vanilla and creamy oak – the ideal celebratory accompaniment to party canapés, think oysters and truffle-laced treats.

A royally good rosé and first for Hattingley Valley, the new King’s Rosé 2015 (£95) boasts an ethereal pale pink hue and makes for essential springtime sipping. A bottle designed for drinking on the most special of occasions, this delicate sparkling wine gives generous aromas of freshly baked brioche, sweet yet tart raspberry and soft, gentle flavours of red cane fruit. An underlying crisp acidity provides a thrilling zest to every sip and is perfectly balanced with flavours of red apple and sweet first-pick

strawberries – ideal for pairing with a traditional bowl of Eton Mess or a rich chocolate orange dessert, consumed with glee during an al fresco lunch.

Family-owned Hattingley Valley, established in 2008 by owner Simon Robinson, specialises in premium, award-winning sparkling and still English wines made in Hampshire, using grapes grown on site and from vineyards across the South of England. The Hattingley Valley winemaking team is headed up by Robert MacCulloch MW, one of the few full-time winemakers experienced in both wine production and wine commerce. With over 10 hectares (25 acres) of vines across two well-situated sites, as well as a full wine analysis laboratory on site, the eco-friendly vineyard is known for its refreshingly modern and innovative approach to winemaking.
